Ok so I have been online searching for the best ways to vape the 510.
I have used factory filters (Pollyfill)
Fluval
Blue Foam
Sponge
Cotton
Pyramid Tea Bag

The best to me was the blue foam.

BUT..................

Low and behold the mother of all fillers!!

Your ordinary "silver" DOPE SCREEN.

It is a little difficult to make, but I have been vaping this 510 mega for over 5 hours and have not had to top off or anything!

You do not want to use the brass as it gets a green material build up after a few days.

I would like to test it a while before we jump to it... nobody on that thread talks anymore so they could be all dead....
But if you want to try just go to the tobacco store and get some pipe screens and make sure they are silver..The gold ones get a green gunk build up after a few days. I only tried the silver screens for a day so these might do the same. It does taste the best and last the longest between refills though.

It wouldn't let me copy the pics correctly so I will just try to explain.

1. Get 2 silver pipe screens, Like you smoke out of a bowl with.
2. Form them together like a bowl over the end of a pen. Just set them on top and push down with your fingers.
3. Use a dead atty and flip the formed screen over like a cereal bowl and push it down into the dead atty with the pen.
4. Form it to the side walls of the dead atty.
5. Fold the top part of the screen over in to the dead atty flush with the top so you have an empty cylinder shaped screen, like a solid hollow cylinder.
6. Flip it over and take the pen and push the part you just folded over down into the dead atty so the screen looks like a hollow point bullet.
7. Fill a cart
8. Put the bullet into the full cart with the dimple at the top so when you attach it to the good atty it doesn't damage the wick.

The directions don't really make sense. Just make a sombrero or open ended hollow point bullet

It acts as a plug. It lasts the longest before refills out of anything I have tried. Topping off seems impossible. You would have to have a few premade or take the bullet completely out to refill it. I do not know if there are any side effects after a single day so do this at your own risk.

I tried that mod last month and could not for the life of me make something so small and cram it into the 510 cart. it has to be small enough. I ended up using just one screen and folded it over, tried to cram it in, poked my fingers, bled all over my cart and table. I ruined 3 screens (to valuble for this.) I got it in, looked like shit and tried it out. After 10 minutes, I took it out and went back to my PTB.

I like the ptb but to me the juice runs out to fast.

yea it is difficult..
I just tried this:

one silver screen
folded it in half
put it on top of a cart
cut around with scissors just barely bigger than the cart hole
discarded the fray cut screen
carefully stuck rectangle folded screen in the tip of the cart hole like a small bowl so I didn't crush the wick
wrapped a tiny piece that was a bit too long outside the cart to hold it
filled the cart, put the cart on the atty and vaped away

Came back here and saw this post.

It only took a minute to do it. so far it isn't leaking.

If this works I'll be switching from blue foam to this if it doesn't green up in a few days like the brass.

I tried it the hard way the other day and it lasted longer than the blue foam and I couldn't taste any material.

EDIT: it also let me fill it without taking it out.

I'm gonna have to try that with a Blue Cart and see what happens. ( no 510)

If they're THAT damn big, maybe they can protect our rights to vape!!!

You know Jim the more I read what you right and how you respond the more I get the feeling we think along the same lines...I'm not sure if that is a good thing or what....just an observation.

Vaporhead, I followed your technique with the tiny BLU white cart. Except I left slightly larger amounts of screen on the out side edges to bend down the white cart. I have to say, not only does it hit better now with the screen, but the flavor is much better and just a few drops of e juice lasts quite a while. Thanks for the video. Also I put a little bit of the white matting into the cart before placing the modded white part into it. This way it cuts down on the potential of getting a "juicy snack". Works great! The tiny BLU actually puts off way more vapor this way. Lets all keep experimenting to figure out optimum performance! Thanks again, B

I showed your YouTube video to a friend, and he and I are both thinking of trying out the screen method. Have you had any green corrosion with the silver screen, or any other problems?

No problems at all.
It is hard to refill though, you have to take it out just like the blue foam in order to refill it. The sombrero hat type is better than the simple one I did in my video. But I can't see fitting one of those into a blue. There has never been corrosion with the stainless steel screens for me. I use the blue foam and the silver screens on my 510's.
