I want to start off by saying I am fairly new to all this, and I have only resently devoloped this procedure for cleaning atomizers. There are about as many ways to clean atomizers as there are people doing it...Is there one perfect way....I don't think so....right now this is the way that is working for me!!! I will however be eagerly watching this catagory for new and potentially better ways to do it....So here goes nothin', good luck!
I have a Titan 510, so that is the type of atty's I am cleaning.
I started off with a vibrating bath of rubbing alcohol 70%, I made the vibrating bath thing myself, I have a thing for my neck that is like a big sock filled with plastic beads, and it has a pocket sewn in that holds a palm size massager that has two speeds.I taped the massager thing to the bottom of a small tuppperware bowl.... I got the neck cozy thingy at Wally World, but I have heard tell of some folks using things like old aquarium pumps, maybe some others will chime in and give us some info on that...
Well first the alcohol bath for 45 minutes, as soon as I put the atty in the vibrating bath brown gunk started oozing out both ends.... after 45 minutes I switched the alcohol for boiling water, and let it vibrate for another 30 minutes...
After the vibrating boiling water bath, I allowed the bulk of the water to drain from the atty, and then plugged the atty battery end first into the air hose coming from my nebulizer and ran air through it for about 30 minutes. What I did was very lightly and VERY GENTLY packed a piece of bed sheet 1/4 inch wide about 6 inches long loosely in the atty around the wick/bridge...left it there for a couple minutes then gentlely pulled it out it was wet, so I waited about 5 minutes and repeated the sheet thing untill it came out dry, then to be ultra sure I let the air blow another 5 minutes.......and VOILA one super cleaned and super dry Atomizer.
Then I dropped in 3 drops of Terry's E-liquid waited a couple of minutes, then took a hit, the first three or four hits tasted horrible, then it took off vaping just like brand new.....this awesome perfomance from an atty that barely put out any (just a wisp)of vapor, even after what I had thought was thourough cleaning (the old way before vibration).
The second atty I used this procedure on I had written off as garbage it was barely making a noise, and making NO VAPOR, after following the above steps it not only worked but it seemed as if new!
I think it is really a combination of the vibration of the bath for complete cleaning, and then the absolutely complete drying..... I think any moisture left behind at all and the atty just won't perform as good, complete drying seems to be very important!!!... IMHO..., if anything can be added or even corrected feel free to do so, it won't hurt my feelings at all....
