Based on Vaporhead's videos - and his coughing up a lung every so oftern  I'd say yes...

Frankly - I guess I'm not entirely sure what everyone means by "throat hit"...

I'm vaping 0mg, 10% menthol - except for the lack of buzz, feels like smoking an analog to me. I feel it in the back of my throat, but it's not a burning sensation (course - that could be the menthol effect).

But I like it a lot - I'm in this for the mechanics of smoking - holding, taking a drag, inhaling, exhaling... so flavor and loads of vapor is what it's all about to me...

Enjoy your 510 - I'm confident you will

I previously smoked, on a good day, a pack and a half. On a bad day, more like two packs. When I say smoked, I mean smoked the cigs all the way down to the filter.

I have only been vaping for a little less than a month now and I notice that the e-cig holds back the craving of a cigs. I still have to fight off the desire at specific moments. Such as...
1) After getting out of bed in the morning
2) After drinking coffee (anytine of the day)
3) After meals
These 3 are the hardest times for me.

Changes I have noticed in the short period of time vaping...
1) Cigs taste diff.
2) E-cig flavors standing out more as time goes by
3) People have noticed that I, my clothes and my car* do not smell of tabacco any longer.
*I had my car detailed (big time) professionally when I started vaping.

My body is going thru some changes also. Along with the change in my taste buds I am going thru a bit of detox. As gross as it may sound, I am coughing up some tar (from what I can make of it). This has not happened b/4, so I can only think that my body is trying to fight back. I have noticed that I am also clenching my teeth. Has anyone else experienced these things and if so how long did it last? I'm sure the time period is different in each case but it helps to know and have an idea.

The toughest thing for me was the increased appetite, and the 10 or so pounds that came along with it, and I was not a waif to begin with. I know that I am better off though.

I also think about how fortunate I am, in that I don't feel the desire for analogs anymore. The first few days were though. I feel for anyone who still feels that pull. Fight it though, because if you can get where I am today, it is worth it.

If I had to take an unscientific guess, I imagine you are vaping more than you smoked.

I noticed I was clenching too at first, but I was vaping much more frequently than i smoked. Once I changed how often i vaped, it went away. I came to the conclusion because when i started on adderall, my doctor told me that it is a stimulant and I might notice side effects like clenching. Nicotine is also a stimulant. If you have a constant level of nicotine in your body instead of the peaks and valleys you had with cigarettes, it would have some of the same side effects.

Now mind you, I am no doctor, nor do I even pretend to have a clue what i am talking about so if someone tells you different -- believe them ;)

Thanks for the info Nikk. If you get the chance would you PM me and let me know how that "adderall" is working for you? I was thinking of discussing that with my doctor.

Also, I spoke with a friend of mine who is a nurse (30+ yrs), who quit smoking sometime back. He stated that while he was quitting, he had the shakes and also clenched his teeth alot. He took an over the counter vitamin to help him relax. L-5-HTP (L-5-hydroxyTRYPTOPHAN)
No this is not the banned diet pill. This is a natural vitamin supplement. I picked up a bottle today at a vitamin discount store. I'm going to give it a try for a few days and see if it helps.

Thnaks again for your input.

I have also quit smoking analogs since teh arrival of my Blu, over a month ago now I think Ison't remeber for sure because I really ahven't kept count. But my ciggy counter at the bottem has. I "cheated once about a week ago and I have to say that I was not as satisfied as I am with the e cig. I highly recomend PEC liquid it is the best that I have tried by far. I have tried to quit so many time and this time I actually beleive that I'm over the hump of analogs. the support of this forum also helps a great deal. grrat people, great gadgets, and great advice. I highly recomend "e cig mods" to get ultimum perforce out or your e cig wht ever it may be. I do still consider nyself a noob, but hey the e cig helps!

Greensmoke was my first ecig. I smoke it for 2 weeks and quit, somehow after smoking greensmoke i stop thinking about cigarettes. I go to school and left my ecig at home and i got thru the day just fine. I return the greensmoke after, because it still has 30 days money back.

P.s working out also help you quit smoking, whenver you think u need a cig .. go lift some weight.

I just got done e-mailing a strong, I mean STRONG endorsement for e-cigs to my smoking family members. Today begins my third week vaping, and I am now completely analog (i.e. 'real' cigarette) free! No real cravings at all anymore! YAY! Stick with it, blah, you can do it!

One of my family members replied with an interesting question - Does anyone ever end up able to quit the e-cig habit, too? I dunno. Any thoughts on this?

I am also trying to get some family memebers to start vaping and also some people at work. People are fasinated with it but I don't know how serious they are about getting them. As far as quitting e-cigs,I really don't know. I haven't tried too. I enjoy smoking so I am not ready to give up the e-cigs yet. Maybe one day. I am completley off of the analogs and enjoy using the PV (personal vaporizer) for now.

I did the cold turkey thing from analog to e-cig. My first mistake was buying a B** (not to be mentioned). I found this forum and read all of the post you wonderful ppl put up and ordered juice and batting from Terry, next day I said the hell with it and ordered a 510. Guess what? 510 got here with the juice ordered with it, before my first order of juice and batting. I can't wait for the post office to open up in the am to send back the not to be mentioned. I may be vaping more than I smoked but kinda hard to tell as I pick it up and take anywhere from 2 to 5 drags and put it down. Maybe I am vaping more, too bad I don't care! :P I do plan on dropping down the mg of liquid that I use, but right now I am good. Not once have I had a Nic head ache or head spin and I do know head spins, I take Lyrica everyday. That stuff can make you damn near fall out of a chair. I don't know why I haven't had the cravings. Maybe due to the fact that the first 3 days I was not around any smokers?, maybe because I got my analogs from the Seneca nation and they were "naturals" with out allot of the chemicals? Maybe I just got lucky who knows. I do know I never wanted to quit, still don't, and I love my ecig. Smokers don't faze me, other than they don't smell very nice. Good luck to all! Stick with it and we can all put a dent in Bic's profit margin.

The mango sample Terry sent me was amazing, considering I do not like mangos! I will order more of that. Caramel is like heaven. Keo. Coffee is strong like french roast, I live on coffee but had to mellow this out with vanilla. I'm thinking of adding some caramel also.....mmmm that does sound good, may have to try that when I get home.

My question is does anyone else in here have the urge to tell every smoker they know about these things and this site??? You don't have a clue as to how funny it is to the ppl who know me.

Yes, when I first started using e-cigs I wanted to tell everyone. I have told several people and family members. I always tell them about this site and forum. if it was not for this site and the forums I would not know what to do. I look forward to what I can learn everyday on this site. Everyone is like family.

Man, that's what I want to do too! Two packer here too. Want to eventually quit analogs. I stayed on a Nictrol inhaler for six months so I figure I can wean down again to zero over time.

Luck and stay with it

I haven't even got my 510 yet and today I went to a resturant and there was a guy standing outside smoking an analog. I tore a small peice from my newspaper while sill in the car and wrote the 510 info down for him and told him about it.
