Recently got the 510 kit and a USB charger from PEC.

Anybody else notice that the USB charger seems kind "iffy"?

The battery does not screw into the charger rather it is held by a less-than stellar retention mechanism. At first I was happy about this but a dead battery will blink and show red(charging) then within a minute go green unless i push the battery in more. At first i thought it was still charging the battery and came back to find it still dead after 30min to 1hr. would really like a decent USB charger as I am mostly at my PC or laptop and many time away from a wall power source.

Also any input/opinions/reviews on 510 PCC's are welcome.

thanks

Hmm, the pic of the kit shows the screw in type ac adapter. :|
I didnt purchase the kit, I made up my own kit with 3 mega batteries 3 attys... I have the USB charger, and yes it is a little cheesy, but after I got used to it I don't have any trouble with it now.
I eventually plugged the charger into a USB port off the MoBo, so it dangles in the air, and when I plug in a battery the weight of the battery rests on my desktop so there is no weight on the charger.

What you and I need I believe is called a "pass through" which is a USB or AC powered device with a coupling you can screw an atomizer into. You can then vape your brains out without using batteries.
If I find a decent one I will post and let everyone know about it.

Keep in mind I am a n00b (2 days with a green ecig, and about 2 weeks with a 510)

The PCC, I will probably never own due to the fact I am a farmer and judging by pics, it does not look like a device that likes dirt (I go through several cell phones in a growing season).

I have only tried the green ecig and the 510, I gave away the green ecig, but no one touches my 510!

Take care.

Thanks for the info about the charger, guess I need to find another site to get one that screws in.

I am well aware of a USB pass-thru and no, I do not need or want one of those at this time.
I am in my car and mobile on my laptop for work most of the day hence the need for a good usb charger.

Hmmmmmm, funny how my Blu USB charger is absolutely perfect... :)

I hear ya about the dirt in electronics, my phones hate me when in the desert ;)
I will be getting the PCC for the somple fact of carrying enough extras to last me a full workday is perfect. and I mean hey, I carried around a pack of cigarettes that held my smokes and my lighter right? ;)

Thanks guys.

OK, just so you know, although the blu and 510 have the same size threads DO NOT use your blu charger to charge your 510 batteries. The negative/positive polarity is different between the 2, so if you try to interchange the 2 it will fry the battery.

I would get in touch with Terry first to see if he can get you one that screws in. Just a thought. :D

I spoke with Terry on Monday. He told me that hopefully within in a week he would have PCC'S and passthroughs in stock for the 510.

If you're at your computer all the time then really a passthrough is the way to go. They do make usb plugs that hook into your cigarette lighter that a passthrough will fit into and it works out great.

Why go through batteries and the hassle of charging them when you don't have to?

Mad Vapes has the regular 510 usb passthrough but they also have a 5v usb passthrough for the same price as the regular one. You can get one for the lighter too.

i see the benefit of a pass-through and even tho I am at a computer all day, I am using a laptop and am up and around installing network hardware all day and not really "sitting" at a computer all day so really I just need to get a nice usb charger. Also i work in some pretty sensitive areas and I still need to be a lil discrete when e-smokin on the job, a pass-through might be a bit obvious ;)

Might consider the pass-through for the car tho, that's a dang good idea.

Thanks a ton fellers.

The design of USB is standardized by the USB Implementers Forum (USB-IF), an industry standards body incorporating leading companies from the computer and electronics industries. The USB specification provides a 5 V (volts) supply on a single wire from which connected USB devices may draw power. The specification provides for no more than 5.25 V and no less than 4.75 V (5 V±5%) between the positive and negative bus power lines.
