My question is, why cut e-juice with glycerine when you can buy straight up propylene glycol at any cigar shop. Wouldn't it be better to just use straight PG or am I missing something?

There are several reasons for using vg versus pg. Some people (myself included) say that pg tends to clog your atomizer more, requiring you to clean it more often. A couple of other reasons are that you get better flavor, and better, thicker vapor production from vg than you do with pg.

OK. So why don't companies use VG in there products. Most use PG.

Some of the big eliquid companies are starting to use vg, or a pg/vg mix. Terry is one of them, and his liquid has the best flavor and vapor production out of anything I've tried so far.

VG is a 'thicker' liquid...

Used 100%, VG is difficult to get thru a typical dropper tip bottle and doesn't flow as well thru most cart battings.

IMHO, using a 50/50 mix is the best of both worlds...
- adds a ton of vapor production
- thickens the mix a bit to allow using a 'open' batting material (like blue foam, that allows more liquid in a cart) to be used without allowing the liquid to leak out easily
- and the better flavor transmission

Based on my experience - PG vs VG has little affect on cleaning frequency of an atty.
- my wife uses 50/50 with 18mg nic and menthol... vaping less than 2 ml per day... she cleans 2 attys a week
- I use 50/50 VG/PG with no nic and menthol... vaping about 2-3 ml a day... I clean my atty once every two weeks (and most of the time it doesn't seem to really need it, I do it because I have the cleaning materials out for hers)
I conclude from this that it is the nic that necessitates the more frequent cleaning.

I have found the opposite to be true, I've also found that PG works extremely well for cleaning atties.

I add some glycerin, usually 10% tops, to thicken my juices a tad. More than that and the Throat Hit seems to suffer.

You'll just have to experiment and figure it out for yourelf.
